GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) – A 16-year-old girl was killed in a Gastonia shooting on Christmas Eve, according to the police department.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, along Barkley Street near Interstate 85.

Police have not released any details on the shooting and said no arrests have been made. The teenager’s identity was not released as of this writing.

Authorities urged everyone to “steer clear” of the area as they worked the scene.
