My Husband Invited Me to a Restaurant Then Demanded I Pay for Both of Us at the End of Our Meal –

A woman shared her experience on Reddit after refusing to pay for her husband’s meal at a restaurant. The couple, married for four months, had agreed to keep separate finances and share expenses equally.

Her husband, however, spent freely without considering their budget, which caused tension. When they dined out, the wife assumed they would each pay for their own meals. After the husband ordered more food than her, he was shocked when she insisted on separate checks.

He claimed he couldn’t afford his meal, but she reminded him of their agreement. Later, he accused her of being mean and even had a friend pay for his meal. The wife suggested therapy, but the husband focused on her “unacceptable” actions and wanted an apology.

Redditors supported the woman, noting red flags in his behavior and urging the couple to address their issues, either independently or with professional help.
